The first match of the Finals will be Kurama vs. Karasu. Karasu gets into the ring when his name is announced, as does Kurama. Kuwabara runs after Kurama and asks if he's going to use the medicine given to him by Suzuka, and Kurama says that he took some two minutes ago. He adds that he's run a few experiments and says that he should be able to stay in that form for fifteen minutes, and according to Kurama, that should be more than enough. Juri announces the start of the match, and Karasu tells Kurama that is either extremely brave, or extremely foolish, because very few that have seen his power dare to enter the ring with him. Kurama warns Karasu not to underestimate him.
Karasu's hand begins to glow, and Kurama throws up some rose petals, which begin to swirl around in the air. This is the Wind Petal Waltz Configuration (Petals and Thorns in English). One of the petals cuts Karasu's cheek, and Karasu comments that the petals are as sharp as a razor, but they are weak and lacking in substance, something that they must get from Kurama. Karasu continues to walk toward Kurama, and just when the petals are about to cut Karasu to shreds, Karasu ignites them all and they explode in a small display of fireworks. Karasu takes the offensive, and Kurama is barely able to dodge his punches. Kurama pulls out his Rose Whip, but when he tries to hit Karasu with it, Karasu explodes the middle of it, so Kurama is left with a stem about a foot long. Karasu likes how Kurama fights on, even though he knows that he can't win. He then tells Kurama that there is no greater rush than taking the life of someone that you care for. Karasu charges Kurama, slashing like a wild man, and Kurama knows that if he doesn't transform soon, then he will die.
Karasu lunges at Kurama and misses, but an explosion goes off, hitting Kurama's arm. Sakyo says that he's bored; at least in the VIP room, he could've had a drink. Toguro comments that Karasu does like to hear himself talk, but things should heat up soon. Kurama gets up and begins to go on the offensive, but is stopped in his tracks by another explosion hitting his leg. Karasu then decides to explain his powers. While both Kurama and Karasu can manipulate things with their spirit energy, but Kurama can only control things that already exist, while Karasu can create them with his mind. Karasu materializes another bomb, the Denotarious(sp?) Bomb. He chucks it at Kurama, and a huge explosion follows. Karasu thinks that he's won, but once the smoke clears, Yoko Kurama is revealed to be standing.
Yoko says that its a good thing that he transformed when he did, because the human body of Suichi would not have survived that explosion. Yusuke is shocked by Yoko, as this is the first time that he's seen Yoko. Koenma explains that this is Kurama is his demon form, the legendary bandit, Yoko Kurama. Yoko tells Karasu that the class of demon he belongs to is one that he considers worthy to fight. Karasu says that they are still not equals, and Yoko agrees. Karasu forms two more bombs, but Yoko can see them, and he pulls out two roses that he flings at the bombs. The roses collide with the bombs, so that they explode before they reach Yoko. Karasu still believes that he will win, and summons 20-30 more bomb-creatures. Karasu calls them Trace-Eyes, because they will follow Yoko forever.
As Yoko runs from the Trace-Eyes, he introduces Karasu to the Ojigi, a plant found only in South America that is very sensitive to movement. Karasu says that he does not care for gardening, and his Trace-Eyes surround Yoko. Yoko then summons an Ojigi plant, and makes it grow extremely quickly, thanks to his demon energy. The Ojigi destroys all of the Trace-Eyes, and then sets its sights on Karasu, who runs to avoid being eaten. Yoko tells Juri that unless she wants to be plant food, she shouldn't move. The Ojigi begins to shoot energy at Karasu, who now has another thing to dodge. As Karasu dodges one of the heads of the Ojigi, he throws a bomb at it, exploding the head and leaving a fire behind Karasu. Suddenly, another Ojigi head lunges through the flames at Karasu, leaving us with the hope that Karasu will get eaten....
